Celebrating 20 years at Camp Cedar Cliff
On Friday, October 23, we had the honor of serving at Camp Cedar Cliff's 20th anniversary celebration. Twenty years is a big milestone, and we were so grateful to be invited to be part of it.
About 200 guests came out for the evening. Food trucks handled dinner, and our coffee cart was there for dessert with something warm to sip alongside it.
Twenty years of people
Anniversaries are really about people. Camp Cedar Cliff has been around since 2006, and in that time countless campers, counselors, families, and staff have passed through those mountains. On Friday night, many of them came back together.
There were old friends catching up and former campers who are now grown. There were families who have trusted camp with their kids for years. You could feel how much this place means to so many people.
That's the kind of thing you can't build overnight. Strong relationships take time, and twenty years of them filled the evening.
A natural place to gather
This is where a coffee cart really shines. It gives people a reason to pause. Guests wandered over after dinner, got in line, and before long they were talking with the person next to them. Some were old friends picking up where they left off. Others were meeting for the first time.
There was conversation, plenty of laughter, and more than a few camp stories. The coffee was the reason to stop by, but the connection is what kept people there.
